The HIV/AOD integrated care program provides four beds in a residential stabilisation unit located within the Haymarket Centre. The aim of the program is to stabilise clients with HIV and a current drug and or alcohol issue. The Program supports individuals to increase their medication compliance and address health and housing issues.
Clients accessing this service must be referred through the Aids Dementia and HIV Psychiatry Service (ADAHPS), a state wide service. To gain admission, clients must be HIV positive, homeless, have a current AOD addiction, and one other complex need. e.g. mental illness. Clients are co- case managed by workers within the Stabilisation Unit by ADAHPS, the HIV Community Teams, and the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation. The project is funded by South Eastern Sydney & Illawarra Area Health.
